Simple checklists to make your move easy

Moving into a new home can be a stressful time. We want to make things as easy as possible for our tenants, which is why we've built these checklists to answer common questions about the moving process. Please read through the information below as you prepare for an upcoming move.

Move-in Checklist

Congratulations on your acceptance into a Right Hand property. Please start your tenancy off on the right foot by keeping the following important keys in mind:

First Month's Rent & Security Deposit

Both your first month's rent and the security deposit for your rental home are due before your take possession. Please contact us to confirm the amount, or access this information through your online account.

Move-in Date & Key Exchange

We will provide all necessary move-in information after the lease has been signed by you and the property owner. Please note, you will need to fill out the walk thru form after taking possession of the property.

Utilities

You need to place all utility accounts for your rental property in your name. Be sure to handle this as quickly as possible before moving in, in order to avoid any temporary outages and administrative fees.

Move-out Checklist

Saying goodbye to good tenants is always bittersweet, but we wish you plenty of good luck moving forward. Before you return the keys to us, please address the following:

Notice of Intent to Vacate

Please provide us with your written notice of intent to vacate your rental home. This gives us the necessary time to market the home and take care of any administrative tasks associated with your departure. Fill out the vacate form.

Property Condition

You must keep your rental in good condition throughout the length of your lease. At the end of your stay, take the following steps:

  • Rental Cleaning: You must hire professional cleaners after completely vacating to ensure that the property is left spotless and in Move-In condition. Failure to provide receipt for such cleaning can result in deductions to your security deposit. This includes a professional carpet cleaning, if applicable.
  • Repairs: If any damage has occurred during your stay, please make the necessary repairs before you leave. Patch holes left by nails and screws, replace burnt lightbulbs, and repaint discolored areas on your walls. If more significant damage has occurred, work with our management team to find an amicable solution.

Security Deposit

After you return the keys to us, we will perform a final inspection using the walk thru form completed at the beginning of your lease. If we identify any damage that has occurred during your stay, we will schedule repairs and deduct all costs associated with these visits from your security deposit.

The remainder will be returned to you as quickly as possible.
